Privacy Policy for Serenity Almanac

Serenity Almanac is provided by Mechana Labs LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy explains how Serenity Almanac handles information on iPhone and Apple Watch.

Information Serenity Almanac uses

Serenity Almanac does not require an account. We do not include advertising or third-party analytics, and we do not sell personal information.

If you grant location permission, Serenity Almanac uses the device’s current latitude and longitude to name your current place, choose an appropriate scene, and request local weather. Location permission is optional. You can search for and use saved places without granting it.

App preferences and recently fetched conditions are stored on your devices. They may be shared between the iPhone app, its widgets, and your paired Apple Watch through Apple-provided app-group and WatchConnectivity facilities. We do not operate a server that receives this stored app state.

Weather and tide services

Serenity Almanac obtains current conditions, hourly precipitation, daily forecasts, sun events, and moon events through Apple Weather using WeatherKit. Apple states that WeatherKit location information is used only to provide forecasts, is not associated with personally identifiable information, and is not tracked between requests. Apple Weather’s required legal attribution is available from within the app.

City and postal-code search uses Apple MapKit. Search results are used to create saved places on your device. Serenity Almanac does not operate a server that receives your location or place searches. Data handled by Apple services is governed by Apple’s privacy policies.

For U.S. coastal tide predictions, Serenity Almanac downloads NOAA station information, selects a nearby station on the device, and requests public predictions using that station identifier. NOAA may retain ordinary technical web-request information under its published privacy policy.

Photos

When you choose to save an illustrated wallpaper, Serenity Almanac requests add-only Photos permission. The app writes the image you requested but cannot browse or read your photo library. Wallpapers are not uploaded by Serenity Almanac.

Retention and deletion

Preferences and cached conditions remain on your devices until they are replaced, reset, or the app is deleted. Deleting Serenity Almanac removes its locally stored app data, subject to normal device backups and Apple’s system behavior. We do not maintain a Serenity Almanac user account or a server-side user profile to delete.

Third-party providers retain technical information according to their own policies, as described above.

Children’s privacy

Serenity Almanac is a general-audience weather and nature app. It does not knowingly request names, contact information, or other account information from children.

Security and international processing

Network requests use encrypted HTTPS connections. Third-party weather and tide services may process requests in jurisdictions different from your own.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when Serenity Almanac’s features or service providers change. The effective date above identifies the current version.
