Common questions
Why does the app request location access?
When In Use location access lets Serenity Almanac name the current place and fetch local weather, sunrise, sunset, and nearby U.S. tide predictions. You can deny permission and search for or use saved places instead.
How do I add or remove a place?
Swipe up, choose Add a Place, and search by city, ZIP code, or postal code. Swipe left on any included sample or added place to remove it. Current Location cannot be removed. Restore Sample Places returns any included locations you deleted.
Why are tides not shown?
Tides are shown only when a suitable NOAA U.S. coastal prediction station is available. Select Gloucester, Massachusetts or Daytona Beach, Florida to see a tide-enabled preset.
Why can a widget be slightly behind the app?
iOS controls widget refresh scheduling. Serenity Almanac requests fresh weather and tide data regularly and also creates timeline entries so lighting and celestial positions continue to advance between network refreshes.
How do I add a widget?
Long-press the Home Screen, Today View, or Lock Screen, choose Edit or Customize, then search for Serenity Almanac. Widget options include general summaries, tide information, precipitation chance, and sun-cycle details.
What is available on Apple Watch?
The companion Watch app includes illustrated scenes, weather, forecast, moon, and tide pages. Serenity Almanac also provides Watch complications and a dedicated Smart Stack widget for quick glances.
How do I save a wallpaper?
Swipe up in the app, open Wallpapers, choose a place and appearance, and save the image. Then use Settings › Wallpaper to select it.
Is this safe for navigation or emergency decisions?
No. Weather, astronomy artwork, and tide predictions are informational. Use official alerts, charts, and approved navigational sources for safety-critical decisions.
